Patritti Gets Only Gold Medal for Grenache at International Wine Challenge, London

Overnight Patritti was awarded a Gold Medal for the 2015 Patritti Section 181 Single Vineyard Grenache at the International Wine Challenge in London, one of the biggest and most highly regarded wine shows in the world.

The wine was the only Gold Medal awarded in the Grenache category and one of only 19 Australian Gold Medals across all categories.

Patritti's winemaker and general manager, James Mungall says, "We believe McLaren Vale produces the best Grenache in Australia. To win in such a prestigious competition is a win for the whole region, not just Patritti. After the second round of tastings in May, we'll know exactly where we stand on the world stage. I'm quietly confident we can take out the trophy."

The International Wine Challenge is judged in two tranches, six months apart to allow wines from countries in different hemispheres to be judged at their peak. Trophies will be awarded after the second tranche has been tasted in May 2017.

As a result of this success, Patritti will be included in a trade tasting for wine buyers and importers in the UK.
